The Hervey Bay Photography Club represents its member's images regularly through annual interclub competitions.
The QLD PDI Competition (September) and the Tewantin Shield (November) are held at the end of each year and are popular comps that are entered by Queensland photography clubs.
The Australian Photography Society (APS) is holding it's annual convention APSCON at the Gold Coast 11-16 September, 2018. This year they will be holding their first interclub competition (and individual) competition.

Nambour Photography Group have invited clubs as far south as Burpengary and north up the coast to Hervey Bay for this annual interclub competition.
Congratulations to all that entered images into this competition! 9 regional clubs entered and we came 9th place (206 points) with only 26 points away from Tin Can Bay Camera Club who came 1st (232 points). 2nd: Peninsula Camera Club(227 points) 3rd: Burpengary (224 points). Next year's Set Subject will be "Odd Numbers" as set by us! Oh well, someone has to take the Wooden Spoon! LOL!!

2018 QLD PDI INTERCLUB COMPETITION
Host: Mt Gravatt Photographic Society
JUDGED: Sunday 21st, October
The club represented in this recent state competition amongst a field of 16 other clubs.
Gold Coast Photographic Society took the lead with 395 points, Mt Gravatt: 386 points and Gympie Camera Club with 382 points. We came 9th in the field which is a leap forward from last years results.
A mighty big congratulations to Violet Whitaker for her image "Timber Legends". It scored 21 points which saw her be awarded 3rd placing in the Iconic Australia topic. Well done Violet!

2018 AUSTRALIAN CUP
APSCON Interclub Competition
APSCON's inaugural Interclub Competition gives Australian Photography Clubs the opportunity to submit 20 photos with the awarded images being exhibited at APSCON 2018 as a digital rolling display. Medals will be awarded on a points system for both clubs and individual images. Results will be announced at the APSCON 2018 Awards Dinner, to be held on the 16th September 2018 at the Gold Coast. A digital catalogue will be sent to all participating clubs by mid October.
2017 QLD PDI COMPETITION
GYMPIE REGIONAL GALLERY
JUDGED: Sunday 10th September, 2017
The club represented in this recent state competition amongst a field of 20 other clubs.
Mt Gravatt Photographic Society took the lead with 432 points, Gold Coast: 427 points and Aspley Camera Club with 425 points. We came in 16th with 8 clubs evenly matched with a pointscore between 380-390. So overall, we didn't do too bad considering the closeness of these points.

Nambour Photography Group have invited clubs as far south as Burpengary and up north to Bundaberg for this annual interclub competition.
Congratulations to all that entered images into this competition! 10 regional clubs entered and we came and 8th place (201 points) with only 30 points away from Peninsula Camera Club who came 1st (231 points). 2nd: Burpengary (228 points) 3rd: Nambour Photography Group (223 points). Next year's Set Subject will be "Looking Down (excluding aerial and drone)" as set by the Bribie Island Photographic Society.
