I caught the bug in my early 20's and picked up an old Praktika SLR without really understanding anything that was happening in camera, but the feeling that comes from creating an 'image that speaks to the heart' was imbedded in me from that time on.  Since then, I have owned several simple cameras and over the years family members got used to me hounding them with a camera at family gatherings.  To this day people remain my favourite subject - most of my favourites are the natural un-posed captures.

I purchased my first DSLR early in 2008 and shortly afterward found the Hervey Bay Photography club - so began my learning process.  I continually search out photography websites and podcasts to glean tips and techniques from those whose work I admire, and am constantly impressed by the generous nature of the photography community, at a local level with our club members, and the wider world wide community who are willing to share their knowledge and skills with others.

The main thing I have learned about photography is that I will always be learning.
