Fran Cross
I am married to Rob, and we have 2 lovely adult children and 6 terrific grandchildren. I worked as a Registered nurse to help support my passion for photography and travel, and fortunately I had Rob's full support.
We spent over 40 years of our lives in Canberra before moving to Hervey Bay 3 years ago. I was a member of the Canberra Photographic Society for 24 years.
I was given a Box Brownie when I was 8 and I have been hooked on photography ever since. Rob's father gave me a Nikkormat, and then I purchased 2 Nikons, an FE and an FE2, also a Mamiya 645. I took transparencies mostly and printed them on Cibachrome. I now have a Nikon D70s and print on a Canon Pixma, but I do miss my darkroom. I love abstract images, architectural shots and interesting pictorial photos. Night photography has been a fascination for me since early Canberra days where a CPS member,Orlando Luminere, taught the club members to measure exposure times by the number of cups of coffee imbibed.
I am extremely proud and pleased to be associated with the vibrant Hervey Bay Photography Club.
Well folks here I am, still President of the wonderful Hervey bay Photography Club.
This group of enthusiastic photographers never ceases to amaze me with their wonderful photography and the effort which they put into taking and creating fantastic and amazing images.
It is a privilege to be the team leader of such a motivated group; may they continue to show much promise and to achieve the goals which are set for them and which they set for themselves. Excellence is the goal in every image recorded and shown.
What a great group and I am proud to be part of it.
